We have all heard that seeing is not believing and most of us know that eyewitness testimony is not reliable. This is true, and I'm submitting my example from my work experience last Friday.
I deliver auto parts for a large company and we have 3 drivers daily making the deliveries. As I return from a delivery and am only a block away from our company, I see Johnny going another direction with a delivery and waiting on a stop light. I know I saw him and I recognized his company truck but when I get to the shop both Johnny and his truck are there. All of our drivers and trucks are accounted for. It's impossible! I know what I saw back at the red light as I'm returning. It was Johnny.
This is the point where others start making up stories and trying their best to justify what they know they saw. Paranormal groups love to do this and the religious have always done so. I admit that I did see Johnny a couple of other times during the day and we both acknowledged it later. Some days you see more of Bill than Johnny.
Would this story be more believed if I saw Johnny rise from the dead or with holes in his hands? Maybe he could be there but I could see right through him. Maybe the "him" that I saw was a "doppleganger" or was just off a space ship or some other UFO. Well, maybe.
Yes, I thought I saw Johnny. What really happened here? I was mistaken.
Is it just Johnny you see. If that is so I would probably think that Johnny is the man for you.
Sorry, the illustration is not about a man. I could have described everyone at the stop light but it was not the point of the story. The point is that what I saw simply was not there.
