Judge orders men who lied about military service to wear 'I am a liar' signs
[thehill.com]
Much rather they be punished this way rather than be strictly be hidden away for a time. Closest they can get to returning valor.

We've had a few people people with legal infractions put their community service hours in at my VFW, doing yard work, post cleaning, and even working the dinners. I wonder if a restorative justice punishment, such as doing community service at a veterans organization would have been a more judicious, perhaps even rehabilitative punishment than a retributive sentence like that?

That said, I'm sure some, perhaps a majority, of the active comrades at my post wouldn't accept 'stolen valor' perpetrators to even clean our toilets.

I like that the judge didn't just go for jail time or a fine, but assigned punishment that addressed the behavior.

Sounds like instituting The Mark Of Cain.

Slippery slope! Wouldn’t want to be someone without a dog licence in 50 years Time!

Put em in the Army for four years. I'm a Vet.

Ditto here. Got no patience for posers like these 2.

A judge should order ministers to wear the same signs.
