Only a small minority of people in any military are in the combat arms (infantry, artillery, armor). Most are logistical support people, like you find in any warehouse, or loading-dock. And most would be ill-equipped to handle the insurgent side of an asymetric war, which would necessarily be a hybrid of an underground, and guerilla conflict. Veterans would prove useful in the recruiting and training component of an insurgent movement. Or as paramilitaries for the counter-insurgent (i. e, government) side. Whatever the case, unless a large chunk of the regular military were to suddenly desert, and join the insurgents (not too likely), it would turn out to be a long (10-20 yr), affair.
If it's anything like the last one, it won't be fought by a preponderance of veterans.
I'm just hoping everyone stays frosty.
It would be interesting to watch the cities let the ruralites go broke as the country folk attempted to starve the cities ..with the suburbs as a buffer…
All the US needs is a serious external threat and we’d unite in a millisecond..
Aliens (extraterrestrials)....
@bigpawbullets what if the extraterrestrials have green cards?
@oldFloyd
Um... green as in the color of their hides... or green as issued by our welcoming & friendly government???
🥶
@bigpawbullets well if you look at the conspiracy theories I'm assuming the ones from the government, let's just hope they're more like Klatu and a little bit less like Mars attacks
@oldFloyd

May 2017 is the date on that study, that's before he cut more VA benefits.
No civil war. Everyone is far too lazy and don’t want to lose their 72” screen TVs and golf club memberships.
Just let the machine roll over and then ask where all your perks went.
Far too late now!
Come the Revolution, brothers, they will all be looking up their share dividends and trying to get to Canada or Mexico!
A large, well off middle class is essential for any country's stability. They form a group to which the poor can aspire. When there are far fewer middle class than the poor, then instability is easily triggered. That is the cue for countries like Russia to insidiously sow discord!!
@Petter Good point. Puts me in mind of the The Frost Report sketch ‘I Know My Place’ with Cleese, Barker and Corbett!
