Why is it so hard for people to understand that if the hurricane is god's plan then praying won't help because their fate is decided and if god is all powerful then it created the hurricane and why pray to something that creates destruction and hardship, not to mention death. It's no different than praying to the mass shooter that they don't shoot you. That's my rant, I return you to your regularly scheduled program already in progress

It seems harsh I know, but if the hurricane does take out these people, I will waste no grief on any of them except the children. They can't help that their parents are mindless idiots.

After going through a couple a hurricane is not a huge problem unless you are really close to the beach or rivers that might surge.
It sounds really horrible when the storm is over you.
It is a scream that can't really be described until you hear it.
But the worst part of the hurricane is over when the panicked shelf clearers are either evacuated or huddled behind plywood.
There is a nodding "We got this" to the people who stay.

Yeah it's trying to get those damn paniced people out of the way that appears to be the problem. Reminding me of the line that Ron White used when some guy chained himself to a pole to ride out a hurricane. "It's not that the wind blows, it's what the wind blows." The guy got hit by a Winnebago.
I was in Orlando in 2016 when hurricane Andrew happened. We were told to stay indoors (curfew) for that one particular day. All was good, just a picture of a tree that fell over and was all over the news. Thankfully!
@TimeOutForMe Andrew? That was 1992. I remember that because my son was two at the time and a destructive force of nature himself.

Ok my son said it was hurricane Hermine.
but it was definitely 2016. We stayed with friends in Orlando. The day after curfew we drove to NASA.
