I have been advocating for years for a national holiday: "Gun Victims Memorial Day", It's similar to traditional Memorial Day, in that it commemorates people who gave their lives. But Gun Victims didn't volunteer, didn't get training, equipment, medals, or burial in any national cemetery. Gun Victims' families pay the medical costs and funerals, then the gun victims are swept away and forgotten.
But the violent deaths of innocent victims do serve a purpose. They make it safe for gun nuts to easily obtain the objects of their worship.
