Recently I wrote a post about my interest in connecting with someone with a split tongue, preferably female as that is my preference.
I had several people leave negative comment about how they felt about split tongues and I basically told them I didn't care about their opinions and got a lot of flax because people seemed offended that I wasn't taking their point of view into consideration.
I realize latter after telling the lot of them to basically piss off that what I should have done was tell them they were ACTIVELY dissuading anyone with a split tongue, the ones whom my post was directed at, from speaking up and that I would really appreciate it if they had just kept their negative opinions to themselves.
But opinions are like assholes and everyone has one and apparently I am supposed to care because they have the freedom to voice theirs where ever they like.

The biggest problem with social media is that it has conditioned people to completely turn off their filter, what ever opinion they have no matter the subject or context they feel it is their god given right to voice it no matter how irrelevant or inappropriate.

Now writing a post with an opinion is one thing but responding is very much another.
Now I could write a post with the opinion that Trump is the best president this country has ever had. That is a broad political opinion that has wide sweeping implications and directly connects with the vast majority of people so THAT POST begs to have contrary personal opinions in reply.
But a post "I like split tongues and would like to know someone who has one." THAT is a completely different kind of post and IS ONLY asking for someone relevant to respond and having the opinion that they are GROSS is just being an asshole who thinks everyone needs to know their every opinion on every subject.

I have about a million opinions that no one gives a fuck about and there are about a hundred billion I don't give a fuck about. I don't get offended when someone doesn't care for my opinion and thus don't feel the need to get all shitty about it, I'm looking at you @Donotbelieve

Sure, just because you have an opinion you are free to voice it just like I am free to voice that I don't give a fuck what that opinion is because I DO NOT NEED TO UNDERSTAND their point of view on the subject of my wanting to interact with someone who has a split tongue and if your too obtuse to understand that, well, fuck it, this site is no better than christianmingle.com because every must believe and subscribe to the same opinion less ye be mocked.

Let your freak flag fly and then sit back and wait for everyone to call you a freak because this is god damn America and everyone's option is important and YOU BETTER CARE.

Note to self, being constructive and supportive is boring, being an opinionated asshole is apparently fun and a god given right.
Too bad I don't believe in any gods.
