Dylan is awesome

Not being in control of myself. In fictional terms, being possessed would be a prime example. In real life, having dementia or some other neurological disorder that would make my mind not my own.

That's kind of funny.

Things that I can't control, that other people do ,that make alot of people's lives Harder than it should be

I see you, Dylan!

There are monsters among us. They look like humans and commit the inhumane.

Predatory men.

"You look like a victim," Stuart said in January 2019. I met him through online dating.

"I don't feel like a victim," I retorted. "I walk fast with good posture, scanning for danger. I never look at my phone or in my purse while walking."

"Because you are thin, you look easy to grab," he replied.

This chilled me to my core. His words haunt me.

That is why i always recommend woman wear hijabs covered with sharp spiked studs. Porcupines never get mugged! Unless the perve is a masochist, then i am fresh out of ideas.

@literatehiker. I have never thought anything like that in my life. I trust you did not go meet him. Right?

@Bigwavedave

He was sitting at my kitchen table when he said that.

I've read enough of your posts to know you're a multi-talented person. I hope one of those talents is Tae Kwon Do, or something equally protective.

@LiterateHiker If he was sitting at your kitchen table and you felt comfortable enough at the time, was he speaking academically, or making a move to possibly role-play? I've never understood the urge myself, but it's shocking the number of couples these days who seem to think, for example, that choking to the point of unconsciousness is valid foreplay or an end in itself.

Not caring .Most especially in myself,as i know
the result. In it's extreme ,it's a form of shutting down.
I can overlook it easier in others, and if i care for them
i seek a cause for the apathy and can understand their
approach to life. If they be strangers,my antenna quivers
and i closely monitor until out of harms way😏...
I see in the poster that "Dylan" -fears the finality of life,
and that is a integral part of the journey of life(i don't see
how it should be separate). Time is neither friend or foe
, but part of the landscape like air. ,,,thanks

I'll take on a grizzly or a snake with my bare hands but I hate Hornets, yellow jackets and wasps! The only things I truly fear.

Love your work, Dylan. As a reward, here's the complete discography of Sisters Of Mercy.

Sooner or later we all will rejoin the immense oblivion of the nothingness from which we came. What scares me the most is living a life without meaning or purpose while I'm here.

Yes,that would be grey.

And what should meaning or purpose be? Sadly, we are so brainwashed by the prevailing religious milieu that we assume such words have genuine underlying meaning. That's what critical thinking is all about. Why should someone be scared? What is purpose or meaning of being afraid?

@racocn8 I think the purpose of being afraid is to motivate us to do something about it.

"Time is the fire in which we burn."
