If anyone ever tells you that he or she is being totally objective, he or she is either lying to you or to himself or herself. No one is ever totally objective.

For years I taught a philosophy of education class. I always started the first class with this statement: "No one is every completely objective. We all have biases, and we should always strive to know what ours are and be aware of that in all of our thought and decisions. These I believe to be my biggest biases: . . . .. In light of that, I would like for you to take my remarks with a grain of salt and to be willing to challenge me when you believe that I am wrong."

I think the scientific method displaced a lot of subjectivity. After all, ball goes up, ball comes down, all pretty objective!

Please do the same for me.

Do you mean that you would like for me to list my biases?

@wordywalt somewhere in between our biases we may find a bit of truth..
