That looks quite child friendly to the ones we had when I was a child. At least there are restraining bars!
Children today are losing these rites of passage as you point out. Scapes and skinned knees and elbows, football in the face and nuts all prepare you for the fact that life is not unicorns and rainbows!
I don’t know, after seeing my nephew lose balance on a rope and nearly hit his head on a metal footplate I’m happy to be a coward when it comes to playgrounds. He’ll learn, but some kids have no fear and need us to be there to see the dangers.
But then I loved these roundabouts as a kid, can’t remember falling off, only jumping off too soon
The good ‘ol days! Though… my best friend went through is formative years with his front top incisors broke due to our antics.. They’ve since been repaired, as he’s now a republican millionaire And, the youngest of four boys … he had 3 replacement siblings..
Anymore, with the cost of braces, and fewer children, parents are definitely far more careful… We grew up next to a magnificent city park (with all the dangerous stuff!), fortunately, I was amazingly coordinated, thus kept my teeth
It seems I am the only adult willing to push the roundabout for kids. Running faster and faster.
LOL...watch these clowns put one of those carousels to a motorized spin;
