I have a paid subscription (through my Amazon account) to the Washington Post. I noticed this morning that at the end of EVERY article I read now I find a rather large message that says THANK YOU, (My subscriber name)! Your subscription supports journalism that matters.If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us here: and gives me a link.
I find this little bit of subscriber-coddle nice. Yeah, WaPo is obviously trying to KEEP me as a subscriber. But wooing is better than fear tactics.
