Good but just the tip of the iceberg.
That which is good in Christianity is not original
That which is original is not good
Mark Twain
It is way oversimplified, but its point is important and true: Christianity borrowed from a number of pre-existing theologies and myths, and nothing in the Christ narrative was totally new or unique.
You also need to know that it was Pope Julius 1 who actually moved the 'Jesus' birth celebration from March to December. Also remember that the things that are now associated with christmas: trees, greenery, yule logs and feasting; where taken from the Pagan winter solstice celebration.
The xian myth is the cause of more murders rapes and planetary destruction....matters not if the other 5 were believed in antiquity the so called jesua nasoret DID NOT EXIST and was invented by Roman's out of those 5 religions 18 centuries ago....6 million women die each year because the Vatican and other religions deny life saving abortions/deadly disease preventing condoms
Interesting information, but probably not totally accurate. There are various conflicting stories about all the various mythological figures. I feel really dubious of that December 25 birthday. There have been different calendars used at different places and times.
I think that much or all of the Christ story was fabricated, but that is not of much interest to me at this stage. I am in such a state of utter amazement in response to conscious awareness and the stark fact of existence that old stories bore me. The miraculous present moment is real and is at hand.
