Anyone else sick of christians using god of the gaps argument ? It's all i hear living in the bible belt. If they don't know how something happened then it must have been god that did it. They are blissfully ignorant of reality it's infuriating.

You are asking the stupid to think, and all thinking does is confuse them and give them a headache. This is their way to avoid both.

The usual problem. A statement is being taken totally out of context. The origination of the quote is from Nietzsche - Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Pt 2, On Priests

“...into every gap they put their delusion, their stopgap, which they called God”

Perhaps tell them it comes from the guy who said “God is dead”. Might give then cause to desist for a time!

Blissfully ignorant is a good description of their blind faith.I think that they are so afraid of their invisible friend, and the revenge that their god would have in store for them in hell that they would not dare think logically or use simple common sense to come to the obvious conclusion that the concept of god is absurd .

It's not god of the gaps, it's an excuse for ignorance..
