If all religion ended tomorrow, what do you think would happen to all the churches, etc.?
To house those in need. Hopefully clinics or education centers would be set up.
or nurseries for food, play centre's for children or play theatres. Beautiful buildings such as those would benefit the have-nots and homeless in a huge way.
I wouldn't support wasting already invested resources by destroying or damaging the structure for the sake of symbolism. If they can be repurposed excellent. If not or even if the structures would require substantial funds to sustain, the space being utilized for something else after the church is demolished seems acceptable.
Hate to see them torn down and lose the history.
First repurpose the buildings, homeless shelters leap to mind. Next, drain their bank accounts and distribute the money to the needy. And then they lose their tax-exempt status and the gov't can start collecting property taxes on them!
The mega-church pastors lose their mansions, cars, jets. I can't wait, bring it on!!
All the recovering addicts having 12 step meetings in the basement will emerge with awful coffee but open arms.☕️
Invite those who hold onto religious beliefs and have people like Dawkins and Harris etc educate them and let them know they lived lie for that long.
Used for something else is the reasonable solution, but then again humans are involved, "some are, some not"
Mostly they would be turned into Chinese emporia methinks!
Well... I would hope they would be used for something else but then I tend to run on the more optimistic side. It's more likely they will be torn or burned down. People tend to become a bit destructive when it comes to sudden change like that. Enough people are believers still that it would likely get a bit rough before it smooths out any.
They would go back into the Real Estate market and who would know or care what happened at that point, cause money.
Kinda a silly question. Like what would happen to airplanes if people stopped flying.
