The western liberals feel ashamed of their ancestors who enslaved the Africans and killed the native Americans, among many other things, which is nice to condemn, but not to the level they feel the guilt and think that those are their own crimes.
I give them credit for learning the lesson which they want to avoid in their present and future, BUT and again, not to the level they go and do another mistake that can ruin the lives of millions of people when they give the Islamists the power they want through a crippled democracy which Islamists themselves will never respect and as soon as they are empowered enough will tell you "F**k you and your democracy".
They use your feeling of guilt against you.
are you saying guilt about past atrocities is making us vulnerable to infiltration by Islamists that will be legally elected then morph our government into Sharia law?
Not the level they get elected, it is difficult to reach that goal, but, I'd say they might be able to have very strong lobbies.
Here I was going to argue with You, but after reading further I'm just going to argue with You!
I guess I'm not a liberal. I don't feel guilt over crimes (sin) I did not commit!
Islamists stated goal is to convert the world and if a people allow that to happen, they deserve it! who thinks that the world is fair or should be?
we have slaves. they just don't live here. they live in mexico . brazil, indonesia, taiwan, china , india to name a few. You try living on a dollar a day. as for the middle east every time you fill up with gas think of the carnage we have wreaked on their societies. I'd be f---ing mad too.
By Islamists I assume you mean radical Islamists? Just like not all Christians or Atheists are bad, not all Islamists want to destroy our democracy. I agree that there's quite a few whack-a-doodle Islamists out there, and agree that they should have no support from any political affiliation. Just want to be clear that we aren't painting with a broad brush here.
Your connection between Natives/slaves and the corruption of government by Islamists is...strange to me. I don't see how that connection is made. I agree that there is a certain strain of "white guilt" that I find nonsensical. But how we feel about the oppressed people hundreds of years ago is quite different than how we feel about Islamists now.
My great, great, grandfather walked off his farm at age 50 with his 2 sons to fight with Sherman's army because he thought slavery was so wrong. One of his sons died in battle, another died later of wounds he suffered in battle, so I have nothing to be ashamed of with respect to my ancestors. I'm certainly not ashamed, nor do I feel any guilt for what the ancestors of other white people did during that time just because they were white and I am white. That's every bit as crazy as being ashamed of what the Nazi's did in Germany because they were white and I am white.
Are you talking about foreign affairs, domestic politics, or what exactly? What is this post about?
The category I chose for this post is politics.
@Yousif-Altimimi
"Politics" covers a very broad spectrum. I don't want to put words in your mouth by interpreting what you're saying. Are you discussing international politics or American politics?
Because you seem to be expressing a fear of "Islamists" taking over America through the political process, and I have to say this is just fear-mongering.
I feel zero responsibility towards the actions of people who have died. History is history.
At this moment in time, in the US, I fear the Right Wing Evangelicals more than any "Islamists" as they are the ones who are actively trying to undermine our democracy and make this a country under their control. This is why we must fight to maintain the Separation of State and all religions.
I concur.
Understandable, but left wings must not go into alliance with Islamists in their battle against the right wing. Islamists are just as bad as the right wing.
I thought this forum would be more about we and less about us versus them. Let me throw this back at you, "How do we create social justice and equality for all?"
When those who want to take our rights away understand we are equal.
They tried that in Russia in 1917 and China in 1949. It didn't work out very well.
I reallt do not understand the point you are trying to make. Say it directly.
Look (directly) at Belgium
