Adam Ruins Everything - Christopher Columbus Was a Murderous Moron
I have learned not to celebrate anything about the murderous bastard.
Good for you.
Apart from, arguably, the Caribbean, the one thing he really did discover which was very important for many centuries, was the trade winds. The idea that you could use go east by first sailing south, and then go back west by first sailing north, and have the wind with you most of the way. Though even that was an accident.
Because I went into deep study about Colombus. Found his family were pirates from Italy. Colombus murdered an important person and was on the run and change his name, he was a pirate in Europe before he was one in North America. Made him well experience in sailing around the Mediterranean and an excellent conman.
Columbus was my hero in public school. When I built a pirate museum I discovered Columbus is North America and south America first pirate.
Also
2.First to bring Christainity to North America
3.First gold rush in North America
4.First European native genocide
5. First European to start oversea salvery
This is the American way, why not celebrate him.?
Of course I am joking. Yet, American allow the very few to hypnotize the masses, then the sheep and sheep dogs keep in-line.
I am actually more optimistic about grass root people starting to wake up the general public. I just hope they don't fuck with our internet comunication that much.
My sister and I were just discussing this the other day. There is a movement to rename Columbus Day as Indigenous Peoples Day.
Personally I don't want to know any more about genocides for my holiday, hmmmm.. World war two, Native American genocide or any other slaughter Festival.
Violence never stops violence and killing never stops killing. Plus two most important things for your happiness.
Is your health and what you can forget.
I am a history nut, interested in it because it's a fine line between fantasy, being real and fiction, study unattached. What I won't want is to is regret all over again on my holidays. I don't regret the my pass, and only regret what I don't do in the future.
It's ok to reflect shortly on the pass, but. Living in anicent times like Christian or like war veterans depression becomes the extremely morning and too much negative energy.
I have Columbus Day off and it makes me sad we celebrate it.
