Maybe I'm twisting words, but doesn't that seem opportunistic comparing people to money, as if you're going to use and extort them for all they're worth?

It's not really comparing people to money. It's illustrating the concept of sustained intrinsic value through an unfortunately weak literary technique. It's not meant to be an actual parable. At least, I hope not.

I think the comparison is a valid one. It's made, to say that one's value remains exactly the same, regardless of their exterior.

What bothers me more is the creationist God claim.
