So - I've been thinking about getting a different motorcycle for a while.
Why ? Just because ...
I happened to stop and say hi to my long time auto mechanic - and out of the blue, he asked if I wanted to sell my present bike. Interesting, and timely coincidence !
He'll come by to try it out tomorrow. Meanwhile, my fire was lit, so I headed out to the local bike shop to see what's out there. A young salesman, 20 something, helped me. Excellent manner. Listened to what I said I wanted, was patient, and very helpful.
Turns out he too, is originally from up north, and has had some wider then normal (for his age) life experience, which showed in his maturity. We hit it off rather well - maybe too well - easy conversation for a couple hours. (no, I didn't decide on anything yet). We thoroughly enjoyed each other's company. Finally - time to go. He handed me a business card, and pointed out his personal cell he had written on the back .
How I wish I had this kind of connection with some of the folks I've met online. Damn. I found myself wishing he had another 20 or so years on him , then thinking hard on what limits I'd set for myself, and if perhaps I need to rethink them ...
What are your experiences or limits - if any, with large age gaps ?

I have a personal comfort zone within 12 years, but that’s not to say I might could be persuaded to throw those limits to the wind. Go for it. You only live once.
