So if NASA does find signs of life (biosignatures) on Mars how do you think the religious community will respond? I think they will lose a few believers but a majority will dismiss it as part of gods plan.
Note - they've worked around the existence of dinosaurs that are not mentioned in the Bible yet were clearly here on Earth - and these do not fit with the young Earthers history. So I suspect they will make up some way to make this compatible (like there were Martians along with dinosaurs on the arc!) with their beliefs.
If it doesn't fit their narrative they will simply stick their heads in the sand.

I don’t see how something like that would affect religious people. Why would anyone stop believing because of that?
Some religious groups are more liberal than others- Non-orthadox Jews and many Catholics (the current Pope included) say that god made science so god uses science, et cetera. It's really the fundamentalists that are the very worst.
