Well, I just found out something that everybody else has known for several months now, except me. I guess they thought that someone else would tell me. I'm going to be a Great-Grandfather. I'm still waiting for more details, the most important of which is when is the baby due.
I remember that when my Daughter first told us that she was pregnant, my first phone call was to my Mom to tell her that she was going to be a Great-Grandmother again. What's up with this generation coming up now? They don't seem to have any respect for us older people anymore. I hate being out of the loop, especially since I'm the oldest in the family.
How old is your grand-daughter? And are you easy to contact? Do you accept texts or go on social media? Maybe that is why you do not get the latest updates? Or maybe you are a bit of a hermit of the family? Cuz it seems anyone of any generation of your family could have told ya, but none of them did.
@AncientNight oh wow she's gonna be a baby having a baby.... perhaps she didn't tell you because she wasn't sure at first if she would be keeping it? I am sorry your family is not keeping you better informed and in the loop.... if I were in your shoes I would initiate periodic update talks with your daughter just once a week or so hey (daughter's name) any new or important family updates/news? That way you are not waiting to be shocked by news, you are proactively seeking it out. Best of luck to you and to your granddaughter with her pregnancy/birth!
Congratulations on welcoming a new family member.
What great and happy news! Not sure what is going on with kids these days though, in not sharing such wonderful news with the older generations. I guess our parents and grandparents thought the same of us.
