Sanders makes the case for a gradual implementation of single payer universal health care. What is possibly wrong with his argument? [facebook.com]

Pete's plan of Medicare for all who want it is the best plan. I have both Medicare and BCBS from retirement and I pay nothing except a few pennies for prescriptions. I do not want to go to Medicare alone and I am not alone.

@ToolGuy American Medicare requires a $25 copay every time people go to the doctor when they do not have a supplemental insurance plan. I hope that explains why I do not want our government to outlaw insurance. In addition there are many union members in America that have negotiated for what many consider Cadillac insurance plans. Those corporations are not going to increase wages to make up for the loss of those wonderful plans if they are forced out. I too want universal healthcare and the demise of predatory health insurance companies but I do not want it to happen overnight.

I think overpriced, for profit, insurance for the foolish might undercut the implementation of the single payer health care. The benefits of single payer comes from everyone contributing their fair share (rich pay more) unless the billionaire class starts paying double income taxes or a wealth (assets) tax.

The ones who oppose are the only ones bitching, health nsurance industry, big pharma, etc.

Guess who opposes this? For-profit corporations that benefit from the current privatized system. They have systematically, through propaganda and donations to politicians, demonized publicly funded health care. Worse, Democratic voters have actually become the gatekeepers of the private system, spewing the industry’s false, scare-mongering talking points.

I think it has to be implemented over several years. It should be open to all who want/need it immediately.
There would be an large number of workers that would become unemployed if we suddenly eliminated private insurance. It would also result in a net wage loss for employees who had healthcare negotiated into their compensation.

Those against it are saying things like "I don't want my taxes increased!" When what Sanders is trying to point out is that we will save money because we won't have co-pays and premiums. Instead it's called taxes and will actually be LESS than what we're paying now.

I think we should go immediately to universal, single-payer health care. But if it takes a gradual implementation to convince everyone that it's the right way to go, so be it.

LOL - retarded Amerikkans is what is wrong with it. They would vote for their own execution if they thought it supported Trump.
