I was wondering about revenge porn... does it have to be malicious? Can it be done unintentionally? For example, if a woman/women send(s) a guy nudes, and these images are not publically available nor is the person a sex worker, if the guy shares those nudes on facebook or on the agnostic forum, would that count as a type of "revenge porn"? Since the guy did not get consent to share the image(s)? I have been wondering about this ever since I saw a member sharing nudes women sent him in one of agnostic's groups. Thoughts?

Revenge porn is by nature malicious. Revenge is not done "unintentionally." Revenge is a pre-meditated action. And posting anyone's personal information publicly (nudes would certainly count) is terrible form and likely to get someone banned in this case. This topic is ridiculous.
Sometimes the posts on this forum are so mind-numbingly dense.

@Shawno1972 I have seen way more dense posts both here and on social media.... I got the clarification I needed and an interesting discussion started which has demonstrated interesting demographic trends soo it was not a waste TO ME.
I wouldn't say it's revenge porn... If they aren't in a relationship, and the woman is sending out nude photos of herself to him, most likely she's sending it to others as well.. Is it right to post the photos online for others to see? I'm not sure... I'd have to think on that for awhile..

I disagree... what if that woman only has had the one partner or husband her entire life and that one guy was the only one she sent it to.... is it someone less okay to share her nudes because she sent it to one guy vs many guys?
@demifeministgal we can speculate on many different scenarios of the woman who sent the nude pic... Myself, I would never send nude pics of myself to anyone for any reason... It opens the door for lots of negative attention...
How can it be revenge if it is unintentional ?

@FearlessFly I think it may be a crime as well.... just because one is ignorant of a crime doesn't mean they get to do it and just say oops.

How could it be unintentional? Oops, I just opened Facebook, made a post and accidentally clicked ‘upload a photo’, then also accidentally clicked on this nude one and hit the post button. Oh, and I have no clue how to delete my ‘unintentional’ post.

@Cassiopeia As in the guy had no desire to ruin the career or reputation of the woman/en in question, he just wanted to share nudes with others that appreciate nudes.
@demifeministgal So . . . "revenge" and "unintentional" were (mis)used/misleading in the original post. The (mis)understanding should be considered unintentional . . .
@FearlessFly I did not know how to classify unconsensual sharing of nudes that was not revenge porn so called it that.
@FearlessFly And yes I do understand the misunderstanding hence me copy pasting my reply to everyone that was confused by my wording
