welcome to christianity. In the early 1800's India had the second public education system on the planet earth (after China) and a literacy rate of over 50%. Their culture had existed without external warfare for thousands of years. Suddenly brit christians came in under the guise of "ridding the world of paganism" and promised to modernize India. They destroyed the very temples and mosques where the Indian children were taught and within 2 generations that literacy rate had plummeted to less than 10%. Christians are a bunch of assholes who assume their way is better than anyone else's no matter how successful the other has been.

If the people decide to change and burn their old symbols there’s nothing that can be done about it. It is their choice, just as it was the choice of Germanic tribes to turn away from Woden and become Christians. Everything is in constant flux anyway so I’m not going to lose any sleep.

Maybe this is an example of matriarchy run amok.
