So what do you do when is time for a group prayer at work or dinner table? Do you observe it as a moment of silence or continue to the buffet?

Only dealt with it with my ex's family - back then in 70s and 80s I would just sit and say nothing. Their whole life revolved around their Congregational Church.

I teach high school in New York State, so thankfully I don’t have to worry about group prayer at work. We do, however, say the Pledge of Alliegiance every morning, so I just skip over the “under god” part.

I just sit with my head up and my eyes wide open, once the babbling is over I may join in with a Vocal Aaaamen !!

You have to show respect for others so for me a time of silence is always good.

My eyes stay open and i politely wait for them finish casting their cleric spell. Likewise when saying the pledge of allegiance, i recite all the lines except the 1950's addition of "under god".
