You're my hero.

I was asked to say grace a couple of years ago. I asked for willpower not to overeat, noting that some of us were over-nourished. Haven’t been asked again.

The last and final time I was ever asked to say Grace at the extended family Thanksgiving dinner. Linda & I had just returned from a Caribbean snorkeling excursion. We had attended a Voodoo ritual where I apparently picked up one of those pesky Belafonte spirits. It decided to manifest right after my 'prayer'.....

"DAAAAY O.... DA A AY O..." Gotta love it!

Perfect.

It depends whose dinner table it is. Not involved in that manner of etiquette I don’t know, but I would have thought it was the host that said grace.

I straight up tell them that I don't know how to pray nor say grace

One time I did the "Good bread, good meat, good lawd, let's eat" prayer... They were NOT impressed..😁

@Captain_Feelgood I tried "God is grace God is good, thank you God for all dis food".
That did not go over well.

If I had a nickel for every time.... And it's usually the smart ass that KNOWS I'm an Atheist that makes the suggestion... with a "fuck you" smirk on their face.. πŸ˜‚

With friends like that... πŸ˜‚.. I always get them back though..
