I’m just wondering how others judge success?
Because I’m definitely not normal in this respect. To me it’s being authentic, to myself, and (as much as I can in a diplomatic way), others.
I like the, ’first do no harm’ idea and if I can live by that I will, including protecting the environment.
Then it’s just a series of simple pleasures like:a piece of chocolate; a walk with a friend; a nice dinner; or caring for beautiful plants and watching them grow.
But I’ve never been interested by a big house, expensive cars, etc. although I love playing on motorbikes and soft tops because it’s fun, I’d never tread on anyone to get them.
Am I just lacking ambition? Or are there others that feel the same and know why?
A quote springs to mind about not wanting to be at the top because of those there already.
I’d be very interested in others’ views.

Bob Dylan once remarked (to paraphrase)success is getting up int morning, doing what you like during the day and going to bed when you wish

That sounds good.

The people who come closest to living the life they want to live, are successful, to my way of thinking.

I've never been very material either. I prefer the simple pleasures of the moment. My measure for success is how many people you have positively affected.

That sounds like a good one, but it could be difficult to tell, couldn’t it?

@girlwithsmiles meh, it depends ...
