Am i alone in my feeling that theres something going on that some might call god. i just don't presume its nature. i wish i knew better how to put it into words.
Hopefully, around here you are..
Hated homework, but found it was necessary to figure things out. With a broad understanding of how stuff works, most of what I see can be explained and understood.
What we feel is different, fleeting, personal and evolving. It can be trusted, to a point, but not relied upon for answers or explanations of tangible realities. That’s where humans appear to lose it; relying on their emotions, including confusion & desires ..to explain the world around them.
We can relate to others with emotions, but need proof through science to explain everything else. I often wonder, are we complex, or simply confused
Absolutely! There’s a lot more to this reality than meets the eye. We are in almost total ignorance about the deep questions of existence. Slapping a label on the mystery doesn’t get us very far though—it’s still all very mysterious and exciting no matter what you call it.
You sound like a fellow Religious Naturalist. Check it out on Wikipedia.
You are definitely not alone, millions of people who should know better fill in gaps in their understanding with mythical nonsense.
The better question is "are you right?"
To which my answer is a resounding NO.
You simply have not informed yourself enough yet to gain actual answers to your pondering, rather than lazy "god of the gaps" settling.
There is nothing "going on" that can not now, or will in the future be able to be explained logically, reasonably and evidentially.
No. And you don’t need to call it anything, in fact better no to.
Naming defines and, by so doing, creates limitation on understanding.
Try this
Dylan Thomss - The Force that through the Green Fuse Drives the Flower"
You are definitely not alone.
im really glad to hear it, I try to express this to people in my circle and it seems lost on them.
@QuietCast
I created a group to explore such ideas. We would welcome your input. Come check us out at [agnostic.com]
@QuietCast Probably best not to. It would be like a Christian trying to explain his faith to most atheists.
