The entire purpose of the politicians (of either party) put into power by the rich who purchased them is twofold. First, to funnel tax dollars from the American taxpayer to the wealthy (particularly the military industrial complex and fossil fuel corporations). Second, it is to make sure that those who benefit the most from this redistribution, contribute as little as possible to the pot of taxes they are paid from. It’s really as simple as that. It is bipartisan and non discriminatory and the entire system and all decisions that follow are orchestrated by this core directive.
Absolutely right and until we have a viable third party that is not bought and can challenge the duopoly, we will not see any improvement.
Yes and the democrats just recently approved Trump's budget increasing the military budget by billions more and creating a space force. Both parties are in on it. Both parties are putting the wants of the military industrial complex over the needs of the people.
Bernie was one of the few to not support the new version of NAFTA. I wish he would also vote against these kinds of military budgets, but he won't as long as he represents Vermont and they benefit from the defense contracts. He is as good as we are going to get in a president who opposes trade deals that screw the workers and average citizens as well as limiting military spending as much as possible without being assassinated.
@TomMcGiverin See that's the problem. The MIC has it's tentacles all over the country so all politicians everywhere are incentivized to feed it. Bernie at least has integrity and will do all that can be done.
I'm sure this was the real reason behind the Space Farce. I've heard several things about this latest discretionary spending and it leaves me wondering why Democrats went along with it.
They went along with it because they are just as beholden to the military special interests as the republicans are.
They are just as war-mongering as the Republicans, if not more, did you see how Nancy Pelosi responded when Trump said he was pulling troops out of Syria?
@Archeus_Lore I'd agree that a vote for a democrat is a vote for endless war with the exception of Bernie Sanders.
