I watched a Netflix miniseries docudrama last nite situated in Sweden about a school shooting. It was called Quicksand. Many interesting levels to the film. What happened. What people thought had happened. Relationships. Loyalties. Drugs. Social media. Violence but it was not gratuitis.
Nordic noir is one of the best genres ever. Mostly it is deeply psychological with some excellent writers, actors and production.
No one is employing a 500 strong special effects team or engaging in witty script interplay between the characters.
An episode of a Nordic Noir piece is usually 60-90 minutes of focussed drama. If you like to see things blowing up and people shouting all the time, this is the wrong stop!
