I hear you and I understand the motivation, it's great when it's someone else money but back to my original argument, would I give my money to a politician? Hell no !!..... Perhaps I should make a disctintion here... I understand the big fish making big contribution because they have an agenda, but the average Joe, why?

@IamNobody You know how it works, corporations and big money donors contribute to candidates and in return, they get some level of influence. But recently, a certain senator from Vermont has changed the game. He shuns big donors and refuses to accept their bribes. He funds his campaign completely with small dollar donations from average Joes. This gives him the rare distinction of being the only candidate who can genuinely claim to have zero loyalty to the elites. Because he is funded by us, and his consistent decades long record of advocating for the working class, we can trust that he will do a very unusual thing in politics, lead with the best interest of the people in mind rather than that of the special interests. This method is working so well that he is breaking campaign funding records and has more than all the rest.

Because there are so many people contributing, each of us only needs to donate a small amount to make a difference. $10 given to a good cause is no big deal for an individual and if enough of us make that small sacrifice, things might actually change for the better.

@RoboGraham Well we will never know. When Bernie had a real chance, he was stabbed in the back to accomodate Hillary. Now he is just too old and he might kick the bucket any given day. Do not put all your hopes on him ( IamThinking out loud, ok?)

@IamNobody Okay. That's true. Still , I think old Bernie is far and away better than all his competitors. If he wins and lives long enough to do some good, that would be awesome. If he wins then dies, well at least his replacement will have some obligation to follow through on his agenda.

@RoboGraham Bernie is the only prez candidate I have ever given money to. I knew the rest were too corrupt and did not care about people like me. Still, I would much prefer public financing of all campaigns for federal offices. It would be well worth the extra tax money to get big money out of our politics, but I know that Americans are either too dumb or just too disgusted with politics to see that public financing of campaigns would be money well spent to get rid of the bribery and corruption, It would be very unpopular with both parties and the media, as it would cut off their gravy train to being prosperous from the status quo. It would also require the media to give free airtime to qualified candidates and a restoration of the Fairness Doctrine by the FCC, maybe also a constitutional amendment to make it happen. All very unlikely...

@TomMcGiverin That would be wonderful. I doubt it will ever happen though.
