Maybe he has realised that his rhetoric could have unfavourable consequences for himself!

There is no evidence of intent to kill US servicemen yet. There may be a bluff, a misdirection of the missiles to hit outside of the compounds.
This is not the time to panic. They are just trading bluffs so far.

When Khomeni took over in Iran they went to war with Iraq. It was a long and devastating war for both sides. Now we have 2 faux leaders the one in Iran who is (was) getting grief because of the US sanctions and idiot stick tRump who is facing impeachment. Both think this is an ideal situation for them and it may very well be that emotion will rule. Hopefully, Iran has not gotten a nuclear weapon so lets hope cooler heads prevail to keep the numbskull in chief from using it.

@LenHazell53 I'm serious.
In a previous posting of mine I linked a report in the Atlantic Monthly about how military leaders were feeling about their, so called leader. Many are retiring and some have spoken out, anonymously, about how they feel. Moves are being made to curtail some of his knee jerk actions. The military do not want to have to fight another losing war especially when it is totally groundless and not based on any experience or forethought.
