Obscure and possibly silly, but if you ever wondered about the relation between human age and the age of your dog, this is quite interesting:

My Service Cats Kiti7&Laila10 are sure to live past my 79th year as indoor cats routinely live past 20 years ....we are active without over acting dangerously out side or around contagious other species

Very informative about true biological aging in dogs.
Had not known how fast dogs age during their first year -- Wow!

An interesting bit of research, worthy of an ignobel prize, perhaps.

As a leapling, I will be 13 this year (52 in people-years) - and it's a Caturday, too!! That's a recipe for a Party, just add booze.

No one will be hearing from the Cattus from about Friday the 28th until I wake up and recover.

@Allamanda - It's not too bad, actually. Regular years, the b-day is treated as 3/1. Every four years, though, I have an excuse to engage in Extra Party mode!

@Allamanda = oh gawd...Gilbert and Sullivan... LOL!! Great reference!

Oh, to really be 13 again, though... it's true what is said, "Youth is wasted on the young..."

@MissKathleen - LOL! I certainly enjoy my libations, but can't carry on like a college kid anymore!

I promise to put a bell on my collar that weekend so you all know of my whereabouts! 🙂

There was no February 29th, 2000 twenty years ago ....does that screw up your CatMATH ?? Consider how sad my ex had only 2 wedding anniversaries 1980 and 1984 divorcing her scum ex that year after 8 years of marriage since February 29th 1976....our marriage lasted 15 December 1991 to April 4th 2000.....my first polydactyl cat EVO lived exactly 12 years in my life election week 1987 to 1999 she surely was over 5 years old when I found her and we could not find a spay scar and she never came into heat.....STEELY DAN REELING IN THE YEARS stowing away the time

@Larry68Feminist - Actually, the year 2000 WAS a leap year.

Years that end in "00" are skipped, this is true. The exception is when the year is divisible by 400, in which case, the year 2000 was a Leapin'. 2100 will not be a leap year.

@LatentumCattus sorry I forgot the 400 ADJUSTMENT....hope we both live happily with cats past 2100....Admiral KIRKs will be born in Riverside Iowa on my birthday and I share March 22nd with Marcel Marceau and William Shatner.....Commander Data will have a cat he rescued named her SPOT

@Larry68Feminist - No worries! One could say that I have quite the vested interest in knowing the formula.

You seem to like both cats and Star Trek quite a bit! That is a lot of information!

@LatentumCattus cats of course but March 22 is mere coincidence with Trekkies....I always fought with my family to change the channel from Bonanza or some shit cowboy show to watch Star Trek 55 years ago.....those were the real years of Gemini Space Walks training for Apollo shot to the moon.....there was one show where an alien shape shifted from human female form to black cat .....perhaps you cherish the Istanbul movie KEDI ?

@Larry68Feminist - I don't know the film "KEDI". I have personally met a number of Hemingway cats in Key West, though.

@LatentumCattus 6 toes in Key West is cool but my Laila has 7 "toes" on each of her front paws ....6 thumbs really to pick up her food 3 each to clamp against 4 toes she does not always puncture her food with claws like 20 toe cats..... buy or rent KEDI if you love cats .... I know of zero other films where cats are the protagonists and their lives are caught on camera including shoulder mounted cameras giving the viewers human ankle level views prancing the streets of an ancient city renowned for cats
