So..what do y'all know or heard of about the protests going on in India?
From what I understand, the current government wants to provide a quicker path to citizenship to persecuted religious minorities (Hindus, Christian,Buddhist,Sikhs and Jains) who have fled systematic persecution (Kilings,Rapes, Acid thrown on faces of women and many other things) in the 3 Islamic countries (Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan).
The problem is that the bill does not include Muslims...
Why are Liberals protesting this? Should Muslims be included in the list of people being persecuted in Islamic countries?
Its defying logic..

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.You don't think people aren't persecuted in those countries even if they are Muslim? What if they're not the right kind of Muslim? Just look at all the fighting and conflict between the different Muslim sects.
My understanding of this issue leads me to conclude that it just needs to be changed to religious-based persecution, which is what it's about in principle. It flies in the face of India's secularism, and as I understand it the people know that Modi is prejudiced against Muslims.

So I guess the religious minorities cannot be helped unless everyone claiming to be persecuted is granted citizenship. I agree that Modi might have a bias against muslims..
People talk about the Gujarat riots where a lot of Muslims (and Hindus) were killed during Modi's role there.. but very few talk about what caused the riots - Muslim Mobs setting fire to a train in Godhra railway station.
Im really scared and worried that Liberalism is being hijacked by Muslim apologists the same way American conservatism has been hijacked by right wing Christians...
@EternalVagabond Don't worry. There's a big difference between embracing a religion or injecting one's religion into their politics and defending religious freedom. I suspect the people you're worried about are no more Muslim apologists and they Christian apologists. That is, they're not apologists for any religion.
@EternalVagabond I'm sick of it being considered not politically correct to criticize islam because muslims are a minority. If you devote your life to some irrational backward ass dogma, expect some criticism.
