Curious as to what opinions are more popular here. Tough to guage right now until I read more posts. I know we all have some common ground on religion and the importance of separation of church and state which I feel is critical and also under threat from the current administration. I also am prochoice and support womens right to choose, which is also under threat these days. Having said that, are these opinions shared my most here, if not how do you feel? I consider myself liberal with an unfortunate conservative father/sibling.🤦♂️ yes we argue a lot.

Well since you brought it up and I can't get anyone else in society to consider the issue, what about the father's right to choose? Two people have consensual sex intending to have a kid and the woman decides she doesn't want the kid. The father, who has to pay for the kid if she has it, doesn't get a say?

I'd say you have to hope the father is stable and both have a loving relationship and planned to have children first..otherwise if it was an accident it's her body and her right to choose.

@Secularman so no double standard, father has to be stable but the mother, if she wants to keep it, doesn't have to be? 🤔

@lerlo it's her body isnt it? Life isnt fair

@Secularman You went past "her body" and said the father had to be stable in order to have the kid if the mother didnt want it

Hello and welcome. Given that, you should fit in well here. There are a few who fight like cats and dogs, but only over trivia never anything important.

We live in a globalised community so it is necessary to aim to understand global rationales.

It’s no longer possible to view one’s nation as being apart from international actors and regimes. It is.no longer a viable position due to integrated markets and communications.

Empirical and national values still hold in certain situations such as immigration and regency but these contexts are being reduced as neoliberalism becomes the dominant global culture.

I hope you enjoy your time here.

I'm here for the kicks. The shits 'n giggles, as it were.

Sometimes I produce sizable words, string 'em together. Occasionally, they even make sense.

Other times, just caterwauling.

Mainly, I'm just out to have a good time. My opinions are about as good as everyone else's, in that they are, well, opinions. And should be treated as such.

Hold on, what was I saying? Oh, nevermind.

..admit it.. You’re here for the nip 😉

I’ve considered this a group of Thinkers. Those who’ve done their homework, are well educated, and value distance between State and church.. It often appears our contributors would be from the ‘Blue States,’ you know, the prosperous ones. And, we’ve those in love with the climate, flora & fauna of some ‘red states,’ the ones where most vote against their best interests…

This can be a gathering place of sorts for the educated, and a ‘safe place’ for those living amid the uneducated. And, there are many contributors from outside ‘the states!’ Their perspective is often refreshing, and equally insightful.. An interesting mix, for sure 🙂
