Why is it that no other god's name is used as a swear word... except Jesus?
No one swears using...
... Allah
... Jehovah
... Budda
... Yahusha
... Krishna
... Baal
... Dagon
... etc.
Satan only gets people to swear using Jesus' Name. Why?
Is it possible that only the true God can be blasphemed?
Judaism and Christianity share the Ten Commandments and so both take their "don't take the name of Yahweh in vain" from there.
I can't imagine that such things are an impulse unique to the Jewish / Christian deity. I would imagine that taking Allah's name in vain would carry the death penalty for a Muslim; I certainly wouldn't test the theory by cursing Allah on the streets of Istanbul or something. This link (https://themuslimvibe.com/faith-islam/hitting-swearing-cursing-and-taunting-in-islam) claims Allah takes great displeasure in cursing and abusive language but does not explicitly address the issue of directing foul language towards Allah himself. Trying to Google about this topic, I can't offhand find non-Christian directives about it though.
The cursing of non-monotheistic deities would inherently be a lesser offense. A Hindu would likely regard it more as an offense toward some family that had chosen that particular deity as their "house god" for instance.
I think Christianity (in recent times anyway) has been more permissive (and toothless) about this, and I think the consequences in both Christianity and Judaism for blasphemy of that kind would largely be social, being cast out of religious fellowship or perhaps family -- at most. But that hardly serves as some kind of proof of special pleading about that one deity.
I blaspheme all of them just to make sure I am not a bigot!
My son got sent to the principles office for saying pph my god in a public school. It was one of the decideing factors of me starting my Youtube channel. In this video I explain.
Goddamn just has a nice ring to it and really covers all of the Gods. Jesus Fucking Christ! is the only one using Jesus's name I can think of. It has a nice flow to it.
I love that one. I think itβs probably my favourite. Itβs got a marvellous metre to it giving the first syllable of each word amazing emphasis.
Great example of how to expel internal frustration!
