I find myself using the expression, “Thank God!” in a pretty regular manner. I have tried to say “Thank Void” as an alternative but it is not yet habitual. I would really like to stop using this expression as well as others such as, “oh my god”, “for the love of god”, “god forbid”. This language is so ingrained in my vocabulary that I have to consciously make an effort not to use it. Does anyone else struggle with using these expressions, or have alternative expressions that they use?

Please teach yourself to never say, or write, any phrase that starts with "Oh My...", including acronyms.

I still say it but don't necessarily see a conflict. But then again I tend to think for most people it's more of an expression instead of a literal thanking to their idea of God.

It's like when you say (God) Bless You if someone sneezes. The original expression had a meaning but no longer really does.

I wouldn't sweat it. But you could always do what some fundamental Christians do and say, "Thank goodness!"
