Being the Daily Mail (UK) the article may be trying to point out that the 'poor darkies' should be fine upstanding Church of England Christians.
However, I see the point that aboriginal peoples should be able to block ban an invasion of their culture by an alien counter religion.
Compare this with freedom of speech to talk bollocks about invisible friends in the sky.
