I find it fascinating that I still receive vehement backlash against the use of RT reports here. I'm obviously in need of some of the 10 billion people who have watched on YouTube where the organisation has 16 million subscribers.
Perhaps Agnostic.Com should consider advertising their site to RT viewers. @Admin?
RT — THE FIRST TV NEWS NETWORK IN THE WORLD TO HIT 10 BLN VIEWS ON YOUTUBE [rt.com]
I recommend installing this browser extension :
Journalists rating the journalism of others (who better to do so ?)
(spoiler alert, RT has about the worst rating that I have seen)
Back in the '70s British Leyland introduced a car the P76 to Australian motorists. Local competitors spread wonderful stories about the vehicles supposed defects and so destroyed its chances of success.
The P76 eventually, as time disproved the lies, became a cherished collector's vehicle.
The public was suborned by Australian mainstream media.
I will have a look at the link thanks.
If all one watches is fox that would indicate a willingness to remain ignorant.
If all one watches is msmbc or cnn you are only slightly better off but only slightly.
In todays world one needs to branch out and seek a broad spectrum of news sources because EVERYONE has a bias somehow someway.
RT sources some of its items from many others around the world.
Bias is not the same as propaganda.
From what I have seen it presents good quality journalism and provides copy for many of the broadcasted such as Al jazeera and CBS.
If there is a cultural sensitivity to RT I wonder why that doesn’t also apply to AJ.
Because RT is generally regarded as a propaganda tool of Russia/Putin.
Oh you mean like Fox News is a paragon of impartiality?
There is no such thing as a an impartial news source, be it national sponsorship, issues of ownerships or political partisanship.
News is news, intelligent people simply ignore the bias or the order of importance foisted on the order of presentation and absorb the facts.
I regularly, watch RT the BBC, ITV and channel four News each night (I draw the line at channel 5 news, since I am not a moron), for a balanced presentation, but usually I find it more interesting to see which stories ARE NOT reported by which channels to estimate the leanings of the media.
@LenHazell53 A 96 yo ex school teacher friend of mine watches the news each morning from China, Indonesia, Holland, Germany, France and Australia and frequently tells me of the national bias frequently shown in the broadcasts.
Here in Australia a bias that has been evident for 50 years is the fact that coverage of the Olympics rarely covers activity that does not include an Australian representative.
@LenHazell53 I try not to miss "Beyond 100 Days" with Cathy Kay and Christian Fraser each night.
