That is what the American voting process has degraded to.
Here in Maine we held a referendum and installed rank choice voting.
Ranked choice means that all the candidates have a slot, and your free to vote for anyone, even an outsider with little support and not have to fear being forced to Drink either Coke or Pepsi. If 3, 4, or 5 people are on the ticket, you list them all in favor of preference. The vote is counted and the candidate with the least votes is dropped, anyone who did not vote for the top two ranked candidates has their ballot re-counted and their second choice is used. The process continues until only one remains.
This allows us all to vote for anyone, in or out of the major parties and never fear a "Wasted vote".
We need this on the national level, and we need to go to paper

The Democratic Party platform is unacceptable to most U.S. voters. They know they can't win the 2020 election, hence their desperation to remove DJT by impeachment and conviction.
