Has anyone seen Netflix's Messiah? I am enjoing the hell out of the first three episodes.
No I just started watching Designated Survivor. A couple people at work were talking about it and said it was really good.
I watched it yesterday. It's awesome.
@kymmacg the whole series?
@Bigwavedave Yup. Once I get hooked, I get hooked! It was cold this weekend, I was depressed by the death of a friend and some issues at work, and I have a bed that turns into a recliner.
Add pizza and wine and it was perfect.
Watch 3 or 4 episodes so far - not going to give away any spoilers on what I've watched so far but I'm intrigued to know how it ends.
As an atheist who has actually read the bible (NT at least) I remain convinced that if there was a Jesus and he had a second coming right about now then American evangelists would have him crucified in no time at all. They have just too much to lose by actually having a real Jesus around. I mean they can't even put up with liberals who actually want to heal the sick, look after the weakest among us, and think prayer should be done in private - exactly what their "good book" says. So imagine a Jesus figure tearing into them for their rank hypocrisy, corruption, debauchery, idolatry, worshiping of manna, hatred of their fellow mankind, etc. etc. Like I said, he'd be strung up in no time at all.
So yeah, I haven't finished watching Messiah but I'm intrigued to know if it ends that way - no spoilers please!
@Prometheus. EXACTLY how I see it. I am at the same point in the show. I love it.
@Bigwavedave just finished it off tonight. Hard to make a comment on the conclusion without giving away any spoilers.
The evangeliTOOLs would be burned to the ground.
Have not seen that but I enjoyed Good Omens very much.
@bufftonbeotch I loved good omens! Cant wait for season 2.
That was fun but VERY different!
What about messiah is interesting to an atheist?
@federal... it's a modern day fiction... I think everything about it is interesting. Especially how desperate people are to believe in something bigger than themselves. No need to see it of it doesnt interest you.
From what I understand it is no more supportive of theism than "The Life of Brian"
@BufftonBeotch lol that's funny.
