Set during World War I, the film stars Kirk Douglas as Colonel Dax, the commanding officer of French soldiers who refuse to continue a suicidal attack, after which Dax attempts to defend them against a charge of cowardice in a court-martial.

No need to tell me. Have you seen it?Do yourself a favor if you haven't. People under 30 wouldn't like it because it's in B&W. It's my second favorite Kubrick film, after Dr. Strangelove. Third is Barrie Lindon.

@FearlessFly Those I noted are my favorites. Of course there were more but I like those. The Shining was well done and graphically meticulous and I found the tracking shots with the "Big Wheel", perhaps early use of "Steadycam" mesmerizing) but I don't like Stephen King much. I think he was senile when he made Eyes Wide Shut and Natural Born Killers and Of course 1001 was a masterpiece but not the kind of film that I favor. Same with Clockwork Orange.You forgot Sparticus.
