I'm betting that's the TST (The Satanic Temple) version of Satanism. Basically Atheists. Though they do have a list of tenets.

They fight the religious mainstream by being an approved "religion" - therefore they can challenge prayer before meeting or in school - by offering their own versions.
The same with the children's activities if they're offered.

They can fight back by being a "reglion" and one people don't want to see participating.

It's a way to fight back. Not a way to worship Satan. lol Though they make a good show of it. It squicks the religious.

If it passes, then all one can do is apply it vigorously. Perhaps tax paymemt could be against your new religious belief, and forcing you to do so would be discrimination.
