What is your reaction to Commencement address by Tim Minchin? Is there meaning?
A huge fan of Tim Minchin, I have seen this clip 2 or 3 times but only ever with the 9 life lessons so it was with surprise I saw him being awarded an honoury degree.
Life is meaningless but I love that I can find my own meaning. This is so liberating.
I tried to think what is my favourite Tim Minchin clip.....there are so many. I love the song Prejudice but perhaps Storm is my fav cos we have all met a Storm.
It’s Tim Minchin, entertainment with spark and wit. No complaints here. My original goals lasted until middle age, and I’ve always had self chosen meaning to my life, but each to their own, I’m no dictator and as usual enjoy his work.
Best: "Be a teacher". My reason is simple: without teachers, the sum of human knowledge cannot be passed from one generation to the next.
Yep there is much to his words. Don't take life too seriously, seriously. Fill this meaningless life with life.
Some of what he says is interesting and thought-provoking and I love the accent but I very much dislike the way he earns a laugh at the expense of people with disabilities. It's distasteful.
No meaning,it's just about choices and consequences, fun factor and luck...imho. Making sense out of chaos and respect for learning curve
