Trump supporters don't see his policies. They just really like the colour orange.
Yes!
They seem to think orange is the new black!!!
This is ridiculous.
The REAL problem is, Republicans' continued war on the lower classes, and refusal to fully fund government programs.
There should be a balanced budget amendment, with a 4/5 majority to overspend by 10%! A unanimous vote beyond that.
Their supposed allegiance to "supply-side economics" is a thinly-veiled ruse to dismantle FDR's New Deal socialist policies embraced by the rest of the civilized world.
Besides cutting programs sensibly where warranted, they should be RAISING TAXES on the super rich, in addition to downsizing the insanely bloated military.
Absolutely!!!
You are one of the few who gets it and see this slow moving Coup D’Tat which these obstructionist republican fascist have been riding upon for the last 75 years!!!
I’m in complete agreement with all you said, with the exception of a balanced budget amendment. We absolutely need to curb our spending and reduce the national debt, but requiring a balanced budget, or limiting deficit spending to 10%, creates a serious limitation on ways to stimulate an economy in a depression or recession.
@Haemish1 Okay maybe a bit more flexible, massage the numbers and percentages somewhat.
The main point is:
stop this stealth war against democratically-approved socialist programs they KNOW can't be assaulted frontally, so are attacking through the back door by creating inevitable, catastrophic crises and, if necessary, collapse.
These radical subversives WILL take down the entire apparatus of government to get their way.
They have no respect for the wishes of the majority, only contempt for democracy itself.
@Haemish1, @of-the-mountain Especially since Reagan. And to think I voted for him! Got sucked right in by Voodoo Economics!
Until I realized the enriched had no intention of plowing that money back into the economy, or repairing infrastructure. No!
Better to build factories in China, or hide it in offshore accounts. Or maybe buy a lake in the Adirondacks.
@ToolGuy
The worst depression in our history happened after Andrew Jackson eliminated the national debt.
Isn’t debt like this a symptom of tax policy and lack of regulation that allows market bubbles to form and cause the recessions and depressions?
Reasonable amounts of debt have historically provided a stable, secure investment in the the US by means of treasury bonds - our current level of debt may negate this, but generally speaking some level of debt isn’t a bad thing.
@ToolGuy Yes, REASONABLE amounts of debt, not mountains of it it designed to subvert the entire system.
Big difference.
Maybe specify across-the-board cuts, including military, to go with national sales tax revenues to replace income tax?
SOME combination of cuts and tax increases, which is what Democrats have been proposing for years going on decades.
The details are not as important as voting in responsible, pragmatic, realistic DEMOCRATS, who will reverse these deliberately destructive policies.
We NEED a European-style socialist society, is the bottom line, which will put the needs of PEOPLE ahead of the needs of radical evangelicals and greedy oligarchs (to name a few).
I think the MAGA people either won't care that he is doing it or will somehow believe that it's actually a good thing that will help them.
Yes!
You can lead a horse to water, you can not make Her or He drink!!!
