I divested from all banks doing business with the fossil fuel industry (virtually all the big banks) in 2016, at the height of the fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline. And for peace of mind (because I knew it wouldn’t actually move them or change anything) I wrote a letter to those banks explaining why. I moved everything to a credit union.
