I only support them mentally. FFRF and ACLU have my deepest support but not in the realm of me sending them any money. Years ago the ACLU helped me in issues with my daughters who both had decided they were old enough to come live with me. We won.

I suppose I do if you count the organization I belong to of former Orthodox Jews who are now atheists and we meet and socialize all the time.

I belong to Atheist Organizations does that count.

Not a group guy.

@MissKathleen And how often do we get together. If you don't join some groups you get no postings so why be here. I wish the groups here would go away., and everything would be a general posting.

Brights, Humanists, FFRF and now, The Center for Inquiry. [centerforinquiry.org] Am thinking of leaving the AHA, though.

Somebody must, I should think. I don't know anyone personally, though....

I've joined many organizations, such as the American Humanist Association, Freedom from Religion Foundation, and others, but not the one you mention. Sometimes I renew, sometimes I don't. This year, I likely let my membership lapse on pretty much everything.

I have been a member of The Humanist Society of Greater Phoneix. I am not sure of their affiliation, and I am not a member now.

No, but i once signed up on the site, but not at all to interested. Groups want and need funding to stay in business. I don't need to fund them. I do agree to many of the issues they have brought up.
But i am so tired of groups begging for money, it is almost incessant....
There are some good groups but most are for money and some type of control issues...

Not interested. They probably want money.

They did, i declined. Lol

All groups (aside from Agnostic.com) have a membership fee. A bi-monthly, glossy magazine and other perks come with the membership.

@HerbertNewsam I just checked it out on the link posted above, but ya, they wanted a donation. Sorry even went on that.

I'm a member of HumanistMN

[humanistsmn.org]

So how does Humanistsmn differ from the AHA? I am thinking of leaving the AHA as I feel there is too much emphasis on Humans and not enough on the system that supports al life. One comment from you link makes me think it is still too much like AHA: "...committed to diversity...".

@JackPedigo AHA is national, HumanistMN is (state) local.

@FearlessFly From the MN that's what I gathered. Thanks for the info.

No, because I believe in Groucho's philosophy: I would never join a group that would accept people like me!
