When my partner was dying we found a doctor on island that was tied to the Death with Dignity program (endoflifewa). She told us many stories of people's last day. One story, that even appeared in the Seattle paper, was of a woman who signed up for the program and the meds were delivered. She liked to have martini parties with her friends so she had a party. She also liked to play scrabble. Her son was there and some got together for a scrabble game. In the end the woman got her wish which was to get a triple word score with a dirty word. After that she held up her glass and made a toast and then drank. She then said to her son "You thought I would chicken out didn't you"? Then she went to sleep and died!!
