Our well-being in all sectors of life, including health and well-being, emotional and fiscal – depends on our access to current, accurate, and relevant information. That information even includes knowledge of how to use reason and data-based evidence to make good critical decisions. Every time that we are denied access to needed information, are fed false propaganda parading as truth and fact we are incurring a debt which will have to be paid.

And that debt will be paid, both now and in the future, by us, It will be paid in terms of (1)premature and senseless deaths, shorter and more troubled life-spans, poorer mental health, and much poorer economic well-being and t2)f tremendous of our institutions and democracy, and greater social turmoil. It will not be paid by those corrupt and morally challenged politicians who seek (1) only to preserve and protect their privilege, status, wealth and power, and seek (2) to control us toward those ends through the withholding and distortion of information.

Seeking to control us, Trump and his cabal (including Fox News) have consistently few us a steady diet of lies, distortions, and misinformation. He has also hollowed out important scientists and experts in many fields. These disappearing advisors are the people whom the public has relied for information to enable us to make good decisions. And, h has done this solely to benefit himself in terms of pursuit o his own corrupt culture of oligarchic power and greed.

There are those who say that Trump is trying to take us back to the norms and values of the 1950s. I disagree. He is trying to take us to the norms and values of 1984, ala George Orwell. We cannot – indeed, must not -- let him take us there. We must fight, day after day and by all means possible, to gain access to all valid information.
