I just reply, I would think to myself,
well good for you, you were right and I hope you enjoy heaven, I will smile and wave as they take me downstairs.

It's amazing how Catholic doctrine can just suddenly change. This one took 2,000 years, so not really sudden I suppose, oh well, better late than never.

I don't believe Hell was a Roman Catholic construct.

At least I was raised with a belief in Purgatory - not Hell.

So I think he's stating the obvious.
