If I am a 70+ geezer, is it ageist of me to call other geezers geezers?
I ask because I am distressed that as it stands our presidential choices are a morbidly obese geezer drifting into senility, an angry geezer who waves his hands and occasionally says something reasonable, and an affable geezer who who is average in every way.
May a young VP rescue us from geriocracy.
Geezers can call other geezers geezers and get away with it. However, let me illuminate one of your observations: Sanders has been waving his arms while speaking his entire life. Itβs not a geezer wave, itβs how a lot of New York Jews express themselves. I oughta know. Iβm a Jewish New York Arm-Waving Geezer
I understand. I come from North European peasants for whom "huh" is a major oration.
Personally I'd say no because where I came from "geezer" is just some guy. Geezer down the pub could be 25 or 85, we'd really need to say "old geezer" to be precise.
But if we found a "geezer" pushing 80 but was also healthy, intelligent, eloquent, affable, always reasonable, inspiring, motivational, broadly popular, truthful, honest, and most importantly willing to lead... if you then wrote them off purely for being a geezer I'd have issue. But in this case I'm not feeling offended because you gave plenty of reasons why these three geezers are less than ideal.

I'm sure you won't be the only person hoping this. It will definitely make VP choice more important than ever. I'm pretty sure Warren thinks she could go both ways between two of the geezers which is why she is being so circumspect about the two geezers. Of course she in pure years she is only a couple of terms behind them both so you may not think of her as "young" but also being a woman that makes a world of difference.
PS. Be careful what you wish for because there's also a chance that Trump thinks he can pull this trick. Setting up Pence as the fall guy on Corona Virus response is the first step to telling him "You're fired!" and rolling out Nikki Haley as his pick. Of course he'd probably rather have Ivanka as the first woman President but I'm not sure that will poll well.
Yep , I agree
We missed the opportunities for younger and more female options.
