In 2008 when asked about Obama, the late Gore Vidal in an interview said, "He makes wonderful speeches. I've heard Chicago Democrats make wonderful speeches for 50 years. But what is he going to do? I've heard nothing but speeches." He was a wise and perceptive and intuitive man.
